- In a large bowl, mix together both envelopes of Lipton Onion Soup Mix with the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Shape into about 8–9 patties.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the patties until browned on both sides and cooked through. Drain off any excess fat.
- In a large pot, whisk together the Lipton Beef Gravy packets, flour, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Add the cooked hamburger patties to the pot of gravy. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally so the gravy doesn’t stick.
- Serve warm with mashed potatoes, green beans, or soft dinner rolls for a true Southern comfort meal.
Notes
- This recipe makes 8–9 patties.
- If you prefer to make it from scratch, you can substitute homemade onion soup mix and brown gravy. There are many easy copycat versions online.
- Leftovers reheat beautifully in the gravy. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a complete meal, serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, and warm rolls.
